This is a correspondence course from England, via internet and/or e-mail.

This dynamic course is the result of two years of collaboration between two Leading educators: Frances Fewell and Martin Watt.

This course was originally written for nurses taking the Degree course in Complementary Medicine at a leading UK University.

Those materials have been extended with detailed information on Botany, Dermatology and Pathology, making the course suitable for anyone. Our aim was to make the course notes understandable, concise and checkable.

Therefore the less important subjects found in similar courses are abridged, whilst the important issues are far more comprehensive than on similar courses.

The 530 pages are mainly single line spaced with 1 inch margins. Therefore the notes supplied are extensive unlike similar courses that use double line spacing and very wide margins. Our course contains more checkable references than you will find in any similar course.

  • Effect of essential oils on the brain: The function of odor and olfaction - the limbic system links to memory, mood and emotion - immunity.
  • Effect of essential oils on human physiology and body systems.
  • Pathologies where aromatherapy can be of help and useful diagnostic features.
  • Treatment methods and applications: massage - inhalation - baths, etc.
  • The art of blending and the perfume note system explained.
  • Contra indications - safety data - toxicity studies (Plant Aromatics booklet included
  • Massage: its effects and contraindications (plus extra notes if taking practical)
  • 30 Essential oil monographs including: production - basic chemistry - traditional uses safety - documented medicinal actions - suggested uses, etc.

    Course Options and Fees:

    1. As an advanced correspondence course on aromatherapy.

    Includes everything in the table above except the compulsory anatomy book which you must purchase yourself at US $36.05

    Upon satisfactory completion of the final examination a certificate of the Frances Fewell School of Natural Therapies and a certificate from Medical Aromatherapy Training Services are provided. Tutor support via mail or email.

    Paper version - $750 CDN + 5% GST + shipping costs

    2. The correspondence course plus practical training in massage.

    Everything in item 1 with the option of massage and practical training with Frances on specially structured weeks/weekends. It may be possible to arrange the massage section in other countries. It would also include full notes on massage strokes and a video.

    Tutor support via mail or email.

    Fees:

    $750 CDN + 5% GST for massage/practical tuition.

    The dates and study days are negotiated with the tutor.

    Note: Anyone who has a previous qualification in massage will be required to undergo assessment of their skills and knowledge before a certificate is awarded on the above course.
    This assessment will cost $50.
